El Rolas Restaurant & Bar | Our Story
How El Rolas found its home in Sanford
It started with tacos and tamales, sold one at a time to neighbors who knew real Mexican cooking. Word spread, loyalty grew, and a grassroots operation became the full restaurant on East Main Street.
The beginning
Before there were tables and chairs, there were tamales — made with care and sold to neighbors who became regulars before El Rolas ever had a sign on the door. That early trust is the foundation everything else is built on.
The food
Quesabirria tacos rich with slow-braised beef, a molcajete big enough to share, and house-made hot sauce that regulars warn newcomers about. Every plate is made to feel like something.
The bar
The bar in our name isn't an afterthought — it's a destination, with margaritas, Mexican beers, and handcrafted cocktails that turn a weeknight dinner into something worth lingering over. Pull up a stool and stay a while.
A place where you belong
El Rolas has become a true gathering spot — a bright, welcoming space where the whole community comes together over generous plates. The people who bought tamales first still walk through the door.
